Ticketing regulations
Terms and conditions of the ticketing service
To visit MAXXI - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo (National Museum of XXI Century Arts), it is possible to purchase tickets for the museum both on site and online. Online, the reservation of the date and time of the visit is compulsory and concerns all types of tickets, excluding the Annual Pass and Legendary Ticket categories for which the selection of the date and time of the visit may be made later than the purchase. The Service is provided by Archeoares snc, through a sales platform www.maxxi.archeoares, which can be accessed directly from MAXXI's official site (www.maxxi.art). By placing an online order on MAXXI's official ticketing site, the user who avails himself of the Service (hereinafter the "Customer") declares that he has read all the information provided to him during the purchase procedure, and that he accepts in full the general and payment conditions described below.
How to purchase tickets
To purchase all museum tickets, it is necessary to register on the www.maxxi.archeoares.it website by filling in the appropriate registration form. Once the customer is registered, he/she can navigate on the platform and choose the type of product he/she prefers, being able to insert or remove the desired products from the shopping cart.
For some types of tickets, the customer will be required to indicate a specific date and time of visit at the time of purchase.
The date and time of the visit can be changed by purchasing the "change date" service according to availability, paying a difference of €2.50 for each ticket that you wish to change.
Following confirmation of the shopping cart, the customer must enter the payment details, which can be made with all types of credit/debit/prepaid cards, including China Union Pay, JCB, Stripe and Paypal.
After clicking on "pay", the Customer will be redirected to the REDSYS virtual payment platform (based at C/ Francisco Sancha, 12, 28034 Madrid). Under no circumstances will the credit card numbers be disclosed to the merchant, who only receives the transaction authorisation code from the banking circuit.
Once the process has been completed, the Customer will receive confirmation of the successful transaction by e-mail with the admission ticket in electronic format, which he/she must print out and present to the staff on arrival at the museum or present by showing it on a smartphone, PC, tablet or other electronic medium.
Confirmation of purchase
If the payment is successful, the system will send a notification e-mail with a summary of the tickets purchased and the pdf file to download them directly in electronic format. Should it be necessary, the customer can download the purchased tickets again by accessing the reserved area at www.maxxi.archeoares.it with his username and password set when registering on the platform. The purchased ticket will bear the barcode required for validation of the same when entering the museum.
How to use the museum ticket
The customer who buys a museum ticket online can go directly to the museum entrance gate, without passing through the ticket office. The staff will validate the ticket using the barcode.
In the case of a reduced and/or free ticket, the titles/documents (company badge, university card, identity card, etc.) proving entitlement must be presented together with the ticket.
Customers who purchase the subscription online for themselves or as a gift for another person may activate it at the museum ticket office on a day of their choice. The subscription, which is nominal, will be valid for one year from the date of activation.
Right of withdrawal and refund
Possible cases:
According to the Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal without the duty to provide any reason, pursuant to art. 52, paragraph 1, is provided for the consumer within fourteen days from the date of purchase, for those titles that do not provide for the obligation to indicate a date and time of access to the museum (in this specific case, for subscriptions and Legendary Tickets). In this case, MAXXI reserves the right to carry out the refund within fifteen days of being informed of the consumer's decision to withdraw from the contract in accordance with art. 54, using the same means of payment that the consumer used for the initial transaction, unless the consumer has expressly agreed otherwise and provided that the consumer does not incur any costs as a consequence of the refund. However, it should be noted that pursuant to Article 59(1)(n) of the Consumer Code, for tickets purchased by the customer through a contract that provides for the obligation to indicate a specific date and time of access at the time of purchase (museum tickets, temporary exhibitions and events), since this is a supply of services relating to leisure, the right of withdrawal provided for in Article 52 of the Consumer Code does not apply. The purchaser, in the event of cancellation or wrongful purchase or failure to collect the purchased tickets, may therefore not exercise this right in relation to the purchase of this type of admission ticket.
However, the customer is given the possibility of changing the booking and changing the date and time of the visit established, by purchasing a "Change of Date" ticket, which at a cost of €2.50 gives the possibility of rescheduling the date and time of access to the Museum. It is possible to make the date change up to the day before the visit, no later than 6 p.m., by clicking on the "request assistance" button on the following CHANGE DATE/TIME link. The request must include the tickets and indicate the new date chosen according to availability; without this information, the requested date change will not be guaranteed. Once the date for which the ticket was purchased has passed, no further changes and/or refunds can be made.
